As the new year begins, I’m back in Sacramento and ready to get to work for the Antelope Valley and High Desert. With the legislature back in session, my focus remains clear: delivering meaningful results for working families, strengthening local economies, and ensuring our region has a strong voice at the Capitol.
This year, I will continue to fight for the resources our communities deserve and advancing policies that reflect the needs and priorities of our district. I look forward to building on the progress we’ve made and continue to show up, listen, and lead with purpose.

Capitol Update
As the legislature moves into the new session, my team and I are actively developing our bill package and advancing budget priorities that reflect the needs of the Antelope Valley and Victor Valley. We remain focused on delivering results for working families, including economic opportunity, workforce development, housing, public safety, and immigrant protections. More information will be shared in the weeks ahead as legislation is introduced and budget conversations move forward.
Assemblymember Carrillo Appointed Chair of the Inland Empire Caucus
I’m proud to share that I’ve been appointed Chair of the Inland Empire Caucus for the 2026 Legislative Session. This new leadership role will allow me to continue advocating for the Inland Empire and ensuring our region’s priorities, especially those of the Victor Valley.
The Inland Empire is one of California’s fastest-growing regions, and with that growth comes the need for thoughtful, bipartisan solutions around housing, infrastructure, workforce development, education, and healthcare. As chair, I look forward to working alongside colleagues from across the region to bring resources, investment, and opportunity back home.
Former Chair Assemblymember Greg Wallis laid a strong bipartisan foundation for the caucus, and I’m honored to build on that work as we continue advancing policies that improve quality of life for Inland Empire families.
Standing in Solidarity After the Tragic Minnesota Violence
I also want to acknowledge the deeply troubling violence that has taken place in Minnesota, where two people were killed by federal agents. These tragic incidents underscore the urgent need for accountability, transparency, and an end to reckless federal immigration enforcement practices that put innocent lives at risk.
In solidarity with the Minnesota community, I joined Speaker Robert Rivas, Senate President pro Tempore Monique Limón, and legislative colleagues from across California at a press conference calling for justice, accountability, and meaningful action. Latino Caucus
As Vice-Chair of the California Latino Legislative Caucus, I remain committed to advancing opportunity, freedom, and justice for Latino communities across California.
Over the past year, our communities faced unprecedented attacks. In response, the Latino Caucus stood strong — passing laws to protect immigrant families, require valid warrants for immigration enforcement, safeguard personal information, defend workers’ rights, and protect parents and children from family separation. We also secured more than $100 million to support legal defense, healthcare access, food assistance, small businesses, and student support services, while backing legal efforts to stop unlawful federal actions.
Our work is far from finished. We will continue fighting to protect our social safety nets, expand access to education, housing, and healthcare, and strengthen pathways to economic mobility for all Californians.
